A lot of two small swords
Comprising: 1) 18th century example, slender 31 1/2 inch blade of stiff diamond section turning to hexagonal at the forte and showing light floral engraving. Steel hilt, the bilobate guard chased with simple borders and with central blossom form; quillon block with large rings and slightly downturned quillon, knucklebow with central swell, olive-shaped pommel. Grip wrapped in copper wire, copper wire turk's heads. 2) Late 18th/early 19th century, 30 1/2 inch blade of hollow triangular section, the forte with traces of engraved decoration, a tower and French inscription; cut-steel hilt comprising plain oval shell, grooved quillon block with half-rings and downcurving quillon with disc finial; knucklebow with central fluted section; faceted, olive-shaped pommel, cut-steel grip.
Condition: 1) Scattered light pitting, grip rewrapped. 2) Blade with considerable pitting and several deep nicks to edge; hilt wit dark patina.
