A continental burgonet
circa 1620-40

Two-piece skull, the tall comb with turned rim. Pointed peak and single lame neck guard with turned rims. Hinged cheekpieces pierced with five circular holes, the right one with stamped inventory number 143. Interior retaining portions of old leather liner, the cheekpieces with leather tabs.
Condition: Mottled grey metal showing areas of light pitting and scattered shallow marks.
