Audemars Piguet. An elaborately engraved 18K gold keyless hunter cased presentation watch from the Maharaja of Jodhpur
No. 2807, circa 1885
Formerly with chronograph work, gilt bridge calibre movement jeweled through the third wheel, straight line lever escapement, bimetallic balance with overcoiled spring, index regulator with scale on center bridge, pin set, gold cuvette, gold dial with raised roman chapters on engine turned ground profusely engraved with foliate scrolls, blued steel hands (sweep hand lacking), subsidiary seconds, case engraved with portrait of Jaswant Singh II, within a border engraved with a horse race, the reverse with coat of his coat of arms with supporters and similar racing scene, signed and numbered on top plate of movement. 50mm

The interior of the front lid is inscribed in Hindi, Arabic and English: "H. H. JESWUNTSING BAHADOOR G. C. S. I. JODHPUR."
The palace of Jaswant Singh II, Maharajah of Jodhpur (1838 – 1895) was a well known destination for Victorian travelers to India. A host to polo matches and hunting parties, his brother is credited with the design of the jodhpur trouser. Enamel watches with his portrait are known as well.
