The Royal Corps of Naval Constructors were involved in the building, fitting and repairing of ships of the Royal Navy. W.H.Wallond's career spanned two World Wars. He was commissioned as Assistant Constructor 2nd class 3.3.1914, Assistant Constructor 1st class 1917, Constructor 1930, Chief Constructor 1940, Senior Staff 1945. The Navy list of 18th August 1914 shows him as serving in the Battleship King George V, 3.3.1914 as Asistant Constructor, with the rank of Engineer Lieut. for 12 months sea service.
Various appointments included Haslar 1916, London 1917, Overseeing Esqrs. 1920, Devonport 1921, Hong Kong April 1930, Chatham Sept. 1939, Sheerness Yard March 1943, N.W.Area. Jan.1945. Retired 1948.
