Depicted facing dexter with tunic and ruff, raised on a socle and plinth base, impressed GARNKIRK, raised on a late Victorian mahogany tapering plinth, The bust 88cm high

Footnotes

The Garnkirk Fireclay Company was founded in 1832 and by the mid century was pre-eminent due to the quality of the clay used and their designs and workmanship. The company exhibited at the Great Exhibition in 1851 at Crystal Palace, and exported to countries around the globe. It ceased trading in 1901 a few years after clay stocks were exhausted.
