A Minton part dessert service bearing the Breadlebane motto

The centres painted after Sir Edwin Landseer with a variety of subjects, probably by Henry Mitchell, including two Cavalier King Charles spaniels reclining beside a feathered hat, a stag in a loch, cattle by a water trough etc, within rich acid etched gold borders and a bleu céleste band, a crest and the motto 'Follow Me' inside the rims, comprising six plates and two comports each raised on a circular stand, plates 23.5cm diam, impressed marks and datecode, printed retailers marks for John Millar & Co of Edinburgh (8)

Made for the 1st Marquess of Breadalbane who married Lady Alma Grahame, daughter of 4th Duke of Montrose in 1872.
