The Union of the Two Noble and Illustre Famelies of Lancaster and York], second edition, black letter, lacks title, 3 preliminary leaves and 2 blanks (2f8 and 5Z6), occasional light staining, lower margins of first 4 leaves strengthened, occasional wormholes amd wormtrails (generally moderate but heavier in final gatherings), bookplate of Henry Fowler Broadwood, contemporary calf, rebacked [STC 12723; Grolier 127], small folio, [Richard Grafton, 1550]
Footnotes
First published in 1548 this chronicle of English history and the House of Tudor was a major source for Shakespeare's English plays, particularly Richard III. It was prohibited by Queen Mary, and not reprinted until 1809.
