Gregson. A fine and rare late 18th century gold and enamel calendar dumb repeating pocket watch
Numbered 838, Circa 1780
Gilt full plate movement with cylinder escapement, central pierced and engraved balance cock with diamond end stone, blued steel regulation, signed and numbered gilt cap, enamel dial signed centrally and on the plate edge, with black painted Arabic numerals and quarters, inner red calendar chapter, gold hands, blued steel calendar hand, polished and engraved case with enamelled back set with the JS monogram and Stuart coat of arms, inside case back stamped PDM maker's mark, concealed opening buttons in the band, intricate blue and white enamelled gold double row chatelaine with the same motif on the key fob, dial, movement and cap signed 44mm.
