An unusual singing bird and running rat automaton box,

circa 1920 and later,
modelled as a woodland pond, with going-barrel movement, the bird with predominately green feathered plumage with iridescent highlights, moving beak, body and tailfeather to short continuous birdsong, emerging from under a log, the rat running in and out from a burrow beside fern-clad mount and mirror-glass pond, actuated by the pressing of a yellow iris flower to top corner, in padded green velvet covered box, key-wind to right-hand side - 10.1/2in. (27cm) wide
