An Impressive Sword
Possibly Italian, Late 15th Century

With broad tapering double-edged blade with two deep fullers over nearly its entire length on both sides converging towards the point and forming a narrow medial ridge, hilt comprising slightly arched quillons of tapering diamond section drawn-out to a point over the forte on each side and with rectangular tips, later leather-covered grip, large faceted wheel pommel with deep circular recess on each side, one recess retaining its flint inlay, and prominent integral diamond-shaped button
