A Medieval Sword Of Oakeshott Type XV
Mid-Late 14th Century

In excavated condition, with sharply tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section with a latten-filled bladesmith's mark on both sides towards the forte, hilt comprising tapering quillons swelling at the forte and with downbent bluntly-pointed tips, flat sharply tapering tang, and thick deeply chamfered wheel pommel with circular recess on each side and prominent pyramidal-shaped button
72.5 cm. blade, 93.2 cm. overall
