A Dagger Of Rondel Type
Circa 1450-1500

In excavated condition, with tapering blade flat along one side and becoming triangular in section at the double-edged point, the rectangular ricasso fullered on one side, hilt comprising bronze guard with side-ring on the outside and cusped ornament on the inside, disc-shaped pommel made in two parts, and tapering tubular iron grip in three stages, secured with bronze solder along one side and decorated with incised diagonal lines
18.8 cm. blade, 29.3 cm. overall
