An Italian Two-Hand Sword
Early 16th Century

With long broad double-edged blade cut with a shallow fuller along the cutting-edge over half its length on both sides below a pair of short pointed side-lugs, long flat ricasso struck with three star marks on one side, iron hilt comprising side-lugs each widening at the centre, long straight quillons of diamond section each widening at the tips, the latter each cut with a line behind, tall stopper-shaped pommel of octagonal section with button, and original wooden grip (some damage) of octagonal section swelling at the centre and retaining its iron ferrule at the base (pitting overall)
