A Two-Hand Sword
First Half Of The 16th Century, Probably Italian

With long broad slightly tapering double-edged blade with narrow central fuller over half its length at the forte, short ricasso incised with two shield-shaped maker's marks on one side, iron hilt comprising long straight quillons of circular section with turned baluster tips, oval side-rings each slightly swelling either side of a central turn, fluted stopper-shaped pommel with button, and flat tapering tang retaining an original ferrule (pitting overall)
