An Indian Kard, And An Indian Bich'hwas
The First 19th Century, The Second 18th/19th Century

The first with watered single-edged blade pinched in beneath the hilt and damascened with gold foliage, and later ivory grip of swelling circular section carved with foliage around the base and beneath the petalled pommel, in original wooden scabbard covered in black leather with slender copper throat mount, bud-shaped terminal and ring for suspension; the second of iron and of characteristic form, with two recurved blades each becoming stiff diamond section at the point, the hilt with grip of circular section and made in one with the knuckle-guard, the latter cut with line decoration within cusped borders pierced with small holes, and with button finial (2)
