A Cased Colt 1851 Model Navy Percussion Revolver
No. 26338 For 1855

With octagonal sighted barrel with London address, cylinder with roll engraved naval engagement scene, frame stamped 'Colt's Patent' on the left side, rammer, iron trigger-guard and back-strap, rounded ivory grips, and later nickel-plated finish overall: in later fitted mahogany case lined in burgundy velvet with accessories including James Dixon & Sons 'Colts Navy Flask' with split-ring for suspension, and brass bullet mould, the interior of the lid with reproduction maker's label for 26 Glasshouse Street, the exterior with escutcheon inscribed 'Art Woodford Gunslinger', London proof marks
