A Continental 32-Bore Over-And-Under Flintlock Sporting Gun
Late 18th Century, Possibly Italian

With shortened two-stage barrels each turned at the girdle and with octagonal breech sections, the top barrel with silver fore-sight and inlaid with silver and brass foliage below a crown at the breech, plain long tang, flat bevelled locks each with external mainspring and steel-spring, figured butt and fore-stocks (one split) with moulded borders, brass mounts comprising butt-plate and trigger-guard each with cast and chased foliate finial, the former engraved with a trophy, the latter with a rocaille on the bow, barrel bands and fore-end caps engraved en suite, brass sling loops, and later wooden ramrod (barrels and locks with some surface rust)
