A .577 Snider Volunteer Artillery Carbine
Signed Adams. Patent. Small. Arms. Co. 391. Strand. London., Circa 1880

With barrel retaining some blueing (some rust patination), retained by two barrel bands, stamped with maker's details at the breech, leaf-sighted to 300 yards and rifled with five grooves, the muzzle retaining its brass and cork plug, pivoting breech-block stamped 'Snider's Patent', chained nipple-protector, border engraved flat lock stamped 'Adams London', figured three-quarter stock (minor bruising), regulation brass mounts, sling loops, and original ramrod; together with a socket bayonet with blade of hollowed triangular section, Birmingham proof marks (2)
