A Rare German Gothic Breast-Plate From The Sir Edward Barry Collection
Third Quarter Of The 15th Century

Of bright iron and made in two parts held together by a central screw, the upper one of rounded form with bold outward turns at the neck and arms, the lower one of triangular shape curving up to a truncated point and with short outward flange along the base, and riveted iron buckles for shoulder-straps and a waist-belt
