The First Dated 1557, The Second Circa 1600, The Last Mid-18th Century
The first with forked body of natural staghorn (mounts missing), the front engraved with a lion rampant within a foliate oval, a grotesque mask between scrolls above and below, the latter above the date; the second with cowhorn body of curved flattened triangular form (nozzle and belt hook missing, suspension rings replaced), the front carved with an armoured figure and a fox in a landscape, the sides with notched decoration, the back with concentric circles, and brass basal mount; the last with horn body of similar form (nozzle reduced, base-plug missing), the front engraved with a sportsman kneeling in front of a stag of St. Hubert labelled 'Sanct Hubertus', the back (some damage) with a vacant foliated shield-shaped cartouche, the initials 'IH' above (3)
