A Rare Medieval Sword Of Oakeshott Type XVII
Late 14th Century

In excavated condition, with slender sharply tapering double-edged blade of flattened hexagonal section, flat tapering slightly arched quillons (one tip incomplete), long flat tapering tang, and wheel pommel with shallow chamfered edges, the quillon at the tang with accretions
