A Scottish Silver-Mounted Dirk
Inverness Silver Hallmarks, Maker's Mark Of McKenzie & Co., Late 19th Century

With bright tapering blade (minor areas of pitting and staining) notched and fullered along the back, and double-edged towards the point, swelling ebonised wooden grip carved with basketweave set with silver pins on one side, and silver basal mount and flat circular pommel-cap engraved en suite, the latter with fluted domed terminal, in original wood-lined scabbard covered in black leather with silver locket, chape and mounts for the by-knife and fork en suite with the hilt, the locket with suspension mount and engraved with owner's crest and motto, the by-knife and fork en suite with the hilt
