A Pair Of Turkish 18-Bore Percussion Holster Pistols And Holster
Mid-19th Century

With twist two-stage barrels each encrusted with chased silver foliage, shaped engraved bright tangs, flat locks and hammers, figured full stocks (one fore-end partly replaced) each carved with foliage against a punched ground along the undersides, chequered rounded butts (one-repaired), brass trigger-guards and roughly cast grotesque mask butt-caps, and no provision for ramrods: in their leather holster faced in blackened fabric embroidered in copper threads with fronds, a star and crescent at the top, and with leather suspension straps (3)
