An Unusual Indian 15-Bore Flintlock Gun, And An Indian 15-Bore Matchlock Gun
Both 18th Century

The first with two-stage sighted barrel elaborately pattern welded with bands of swirls over its entire length and with two bands of 'flower-heads' at the breech, slightly flared fluted muzzle, and retained by two barrel bands, standing back-sight, flat lock with border engraved recessed border and pierced with a waterfowl at the front, cock en suite, hardwood full stock (fore-end split) with grooved panel behind the barrel, side-plate and trigger-plate en suite with the lock, trigger-guard with long tapering tang secured by a screw, cobra-shaped trigger, sling loops, and original iron ramrod; the second with two-stage sighted barrel slightly flared at the muzzle, chased with a line of flower-beads along the top, damascened with silver foliage (worn) at the breech and retained by eight brass and iron barrel bands, standing back-sight, pan with pivoting cover, hardwood three-quarter stock with curved fish-tail butt, the latter sparsely inlaid with ivory panels incised with concentric circles each centred on a dot, butt-plate en suite, sling loop, and iron ramrod (2)
