Two Indian 18-Bore Matchlock Guns
The First 18th Century

The first with two-stage russet barrel chiselled at the slightly flared muzzle and inlaid with a brass ring behind, faceted breech damascened with silver foliage (worn), inlaid with two brass bands and with a panel of chiselled foliage beyond, and retained by six iron barrel bands, standing back-sight, pan with pivoting cover, iron side-plates retained by transverse pins, plain hardwood full stock, shaped trigger, pricker retained by a chain, sling mounts, and original iron ramrod with turned tip; the second with earlier barrel (some pitting) retained by three bands of copper wire, wooden full stock entirely veneered in numerous pieces of mother-of-pearl, and iron ramrod (2)
