A Japanese Flintlock Tinderlighter Netsuke
Edo Period

The mechanism housed beneath a brass plate with circular tinder compartment, iron cock and pivoting steel, the former released by an external brass button, all contained in the hinged ovoidal russet iron case, the lid decorated with applied silver and copper flower-heads and pins, the base with a brass floret with suspension ring
4.5 cm.
