Three iron tsuba
The third by the Soten family, 17th-18th century
The first, a Heianjo sukashi tsuba with a Manzai dancer and pine saplings, the face and feet highlighted in silver and shakudo takazogan; the second a Soten school sukashi tsuba carved with the Seven Lucky Gods seated in grottos and decorated in iroe takazogan; the third a Soten school tsuba carved in takabori and shishiaibori with Chinese scholars and attendants decorated in iroe takazogan and fitted with a gold rim, signed Eshu Hikone ju Soheishi Nyudo Soten sei 3 1/4in (8.3cm) diameter (the largest)
