Three Choshu iron tsuba
The first by Nakahara Yukihisa; the second by Hikobei Masatomi, 19th century
The first an oval plate boldly carved with a boar hunt, signed Choshu Hagi ju Nakahara Yukihisa saku; the second a slightly oval plate decorated with scholars in a bamboo grove in takabori and gold, silver and shakudo takazogan, signed Choshu Hagi ju Okada Hikobei Masatomi saku and kao; the third a mokko plate carved in bold relief with "100 Horses," the rim decorated with a key-fret band in gold hirazogan 3 3/8in (7.6cm) long (the largest)
