Four inlaid iron tsuba

19th century
The first, a classic Kinai design of a horse in trappings rendered in sukashibori and gold highlights; the second an iron mokko plate with a slightly raised rim and hammered on the surface and decorated with tea utensils and a lattice window in takabori, sukashibori and gold and silver takazogan; the third, a Kinai sukashi tsuba designed with a hanging bamboo flower vase with a branch of prunus, the details embellished with gold hirazogan; the fourth, an iron sukashi tsuba carved with Choryo and Kosekiko and the dragon emerging from the river 3 1/4in (8.3cm) long (the largest)
