Two sukashi iron tsuba

18th century
The first, possibly an Akasaka design, carved with a design of koto bridges and stylized cloud motifs; the second with a flower petal rim and openwork geometric patterns, the iron showing tekkotsu and with a rich purple-brown patina 3 1/8in (7.7cm) diameter (the largest)
