Four inlaid iron tsuba
18th/19th century
Comprising a Shoami-school lobed tsuba decorated with inlaid-brass design of family crests, the hitsuana pierced as large bracken ferns and the top and bottom of the plate pierced with inoshishime; a Shoami-school iron plate decorated with bushy-tailed tortoises in gold nunomezogan and Genji crests on the reverse, one udenukiana; a Kenjo tsuba decorated with plantains, ivy and blossoms in gold and copper nunomezogan and pierced with cloud-shaped apertures; a rounded-square plate finished with a "wood grain" pattern and decorated with fan and matsukawabishi-shaped panels of birds and flowers in gold hirazogan 3 5/8in (9.1cm) long (the largest)
