A Ko-Shoami tsuba

17th century
The circular iron plate with a raised rim and decorated with chrysanthemums in iroe hirazogan, some of the leaves carved in sukashibori, the rim decorated with scrolling vines and lightning bolts in gold nunomezogan, hitsuana plugged in shakudo 3 1/8in (7.7cm) diameter
