Russet iron, forged in sections and boldly carved and hammered on the surface with prominent eyebrows curling upward where they meet at the wrinkled brow and forming a diamond at the bridge of the nose, with two cord pegs, interior red lacquer; fitted with a chain mail yodarekake ending in three solid plates 12 1/2in (31.8cm) long (including yodarekake)
