A shakudo incense burner

By the Hattori Company, early 20th century
Compressed ovoid, set on three tapered columnar feet, finished in shakudo and decorated with various butterflies rendered in gold, copper and shibuichi hirazogan, the underside with lozenges in similar technique, the cover pierced with chrysanthemum and lozenge pattens and surmounted by a chrysanthemum finial, with the studio mark of the Hattori Company 3 1/2in (8.7cm) high
