A large Satsuma vase

Late 19th century
The bulbous baluster vase decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt over a cobalt ground with large panels of warriors in battle before a blossoming cherry tree and wealthy merchants and beauties enjoying a picnic outing beneath cherry trees by a bay , the surrounding areas decorated with scattered chrysanthemum florets, illegibly signed 12 1/8in (30.4cm) high
