A pair of inlaid lacquer panels
By Koi, late 19th century
Decorated with flower arrangements in simulated Chinese bronze vessels in a variety of inlays, including ivory, colored ivory, hardstone, lacquer and shell, all against a brown lacquer ground finished to resemble a stone surface, the hanging vessel decorated with dragons in relief and finished to simulate a greenish-brown patina of an old bronze, the silk tassel in gold fundame, the standing bronze vessel decorated with water dragons and finished in a "gilt-splashed" surface, signed Koi shi and sealed Anchi 22 x 16in (55.9 x 40.1cm)
