By Harumasa, late 19th century
Rectangular and decorated on the cover with a Samurai being attacked in the night by a highwayman, all rendered in iroe togidashi against a roiro nuri ground with a sprinkling of hirame, the underside with two warriors looking on by torchlight in iroe togidashi, hirame and gold hiramakie, the interior sprinkled with hirame and fitted with a silver water dropper decorated with a flowering leaf in high-relief gold and silver and a rectangular inkstone lacquered fundame on the edges, signed and sealed Harumasa 9 3/4 x 8 3/4 x 1 5/8in (24.5 x 22.2 x 4.1cm)
