After Shibata Zeshin, 19th century
The small inro designed with a hinged door on the side opening to reveal three small drawers with ivory fronts and red-lacquer pulls, the exterior lacquered with a bamboo shoot and red peppers (togarashi) in iroe takamakie, inscribed in gold lacquer Zeshin; fitted with a glass bead ojime and a hako netsuke pierce carved with landscapes 2 7/8in (7.3cm) long
