Oil on canvas, unsigned, bearing an authentication by the artist's son Yoshida Hodaka (1926-1995) to the right margin.

Footnotes

This depiction of a boulder-strewn mountain stream is reminiscent of Yoshida's 1926 print, Kurobegawa (Kurobe River) in its strongly outlined rocks and verdant setting. A related composition, titled Natsu no keikoku (Valley in summer), dates to 1920; see Botsugo gojushunen kinen kindai fukeiga no kyosho Yoshida Hiroshi ten (Fukuoka Mitsukoshi Gallery, 2000), no. 31.
