Footnotes
Provenance:
Anon., sale, Christie's, 23 November 1993, lot 70
Literature:
Lloyd (2000), p.57, pl.74(a) and p.53
See the very similar pan-topped example sold at Sotheby's, 30 November 1999, lot 184. Two glasses with the same stem form were sold at Sotheby's, 13 October 1969, lot 232 and 28 May 1997, lot 45. Whilst mixed-twist colour-twist wine glasses are generally rare, the canary-yellow thread is the rarest of all the colour-twist types thus making this glass particularly interesting.
