An engraved opaque-twist wine glass, circa 1765
The round funnel bowl decorated with a stag passant crest inscribed TH above with pair of chaps, within a pair of tied fritillary and rose and bud, the reverse with a moth, set on a double-series stem and conical foot, 14.5cm high

The initials TH may possibly stand for the famous Tarporley Hunt Club in Cheshire. Founded in 1762, it is the oldest surviving such society in England. The club met twice annually at Tarporley, with each meeting lasting seven days.
