Born in Bessarabia, Avraham Naton was active in the Zionist movement there. He immigrated to Palestine in 1935. In 1948 he was among the founders of the New Horizons Group and continued to handle most of the technical arrangements and the organisation of the group's exhibitions until his fatal illness and death in 1959.
Naton was a recipient of the Dizengoff and Milo Prizes and exhibited at the Venice and San Paolo Biennials of 1953.
