William Fergus began his gymnastic career, aged 10, joining the Garnegie Gymnastic Club in his native Dunfermline. He competed in the 1908 London Olympics, aged 22, having previously won three club championships. He served with the Army Service Corps in World War One and won the Military Medal. On his return he lived in Dunfermline and then moved to Dundee to set up a watchmaker's business, he retired in 1961, aged 74, and died in June 1975.

The lot includes various research and photocopies of newspaper articles, box for WW2 medal, clothing coupon books etc.
