The Equestrian Collection of Wilfred White OBE (1904-1995). Comprising: A pewter Prize Salver, Coup De Nations 1949. A collection of plated Trophy Salvers by Mappin & Webb, International Horse Show. Edward Prince of Wales International Challenge Cup. dated 1952, 1953,1954,1956,1957. A large plated salver with inscribed autographs. A collection of Bronze medals, The Martini Award. Special award Light Horse and Pony Ballot. Horseman of the Year. dated 1957,1958,1959,1960. A collection of Bronze medals, International Horse Show, competitor. dated 1950,1952,1953,1954,1955,1956,1957,1958. A cased Order of the British Empire, with miniature and badge, Wilfred H White. Items relating to White's mount, Nizefela including; A Bronze equestrian statue of Nizefela by A.V.Gunter, presented by the British Show Jumping Association. A portrait by W.J.Perrin, oil on canvas, together with a small painted wooden portrait plaque. An iron horse shoe and a length of plaited horse hair in an envelope inscribed Hair of Nizefela. Footnotes

Wilfred H White was born in Cheshire, the son of a Farmer. He rode from an early age and began competitive Show Jumping aged 17, acquiring the four year old Nizefela in 1946. They formed an enduringly successful partnership at International level until the horse's retirement. A big, bold bay gelding, Nizefela was famous for kicking back as he cleared the jumps. Together they competed in the British Nations Cup Teams, contributing to eight British Team victories at the White City between 1949-1957. White was also a member of the British Show Jumping Association executive and a Steward of the Royal Show for 21 years, as well as holding a National Hunt trainer's license. One of the greatest Show Jumpers of the mid 20th century, He was awarded the OBE for services to Equestrianism in 1958 and was inducted into the British Horse Society Hall of Fame in 2007.
