Footnotes

This item was designed by the artist Ena Pitfield to commemorate the 1948 Olympics. It shows all the names of the winners from 1st-4th place in every event.

Ena Pitfield trained at the Hasting Art College and worked as a cartographer during World War II printing maps on silk for the RAF. Post War she worked a graphic designer for Liberty's and well as exhibiting paintings at the Royal Academy.
