Footnotes

There were five versions, all slightly different for various sections of the relay, with a total of 3,000 made. The Olympic route retraced the voyage of Columbus and included swimmers, for the first time the flame was lit at the opening ceremony by a woman, Norma Enriqueta Basilo.
