A Meissen teabowl and saucer, circa 1740

Each painted with an estuary scene within a quatrelobe gilt foliate scrollwork cartouche edged in iron-red and purple, the teabowl with a landscape scene within iron-red concentric circles in the centre, formal gilt foliate borders to rims, three concentric iron-red circles to reverse of saucer, the teabowl: 4.6cm high; the saucer: 13.3cm diam., crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, gilt numeral 5. to both, impressed 2 to both (2)
