A Meissen saucer, circa 1735

Painted with a chinoiserie scene depicting two adults and a child with insects, a bird and a fire-breathing dragon overhead, within concentric iron-red circles, gilt scrollwork border to the rim, the reverse moulded with a fluted band heightened in gilding around the footrim and painted with scattered flowers and wheat-sheaves, 12.8cm diam., crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, impressed Former's mark * for Paul Wildenstein
