A boxwood netsuke of a recumbent goat

By Kokei, early 19th century
Lying with its head raised and its body slightly turned to the left, its horns and legs drawn in for compactness and its coat falling in thick tresses over its body, the wood is of a good tone and the eye pupils are inlaid, signed Kokei. 4.8cm (1 7/8in).
