A Meissen gold-mounted rectangular snuff box, circa 1753-55
Superbly painted, probably by Isaak Jakob Clauce, each face of the exterior with a hunting scene within moulded rocaille borders, the inside cover with a landscape scene depicting Venus and Adonis with two recumbent hounds, the mounts chased with flowers, trellis panels and scrollwork, the mounts with two indistinct stamps, 7.5cm across; 3.5cm high
